The Proficient Atlanta Thrashers
Atlanta Thrashers are the proficient ice hockey team in Atlanta. The name of the team was kept to remind Brown Thrasher, a bird belonging to Georgia, and the name was chosen after a poll. Atlanta thrashers have their game in Southeast Division that belongs to NHL'S Eastern conference. Atlanta thrashers current team colors forms to be navy blue, gold, ice blue, red. The hockey fans were greatly impressed by the new set of uniforms.
Today, Bob Hartley is the meticulous coach of the Atlanta thrashers. The value of the ticket was enhanced since they got the award of NHL franchise during the year 1997. This team replaced Calgary flames, which make a move to Calgary during the year 1980. This expanded them to places like Saint Paul, Atlanta, Columbus, Nashville, Ohio, Tennessee and Minnesota.
Atlanta thrashers played the first game against New Jersey team in the year 1999 on 2nd of October. They were made to face the loss with 4-1. But in 2003 September, the team went into the hands of Atlanta spirit, as they were put up for sale by Time Warner. Later, this blow was trailed by another, that is, two of the foremost players suffered major accidents. Dany Heatly incurred serious injuries and in a severe car accident, Dan Snyder passed away. Snyder was dedicated by 03 to 04 season, and all the members of the team wore the number 37 which was Snyder's, on each of their jerseys.
Captain Shawn McEachern, headed the team in the year 2003 - 2004, and in this period IIya Kovalchuk made fabulous 8 goals in all the first 7 games. This excitement included 2 hat tricks, where one was when playing in opposition to Chicago Blackhawks, and the score was 7-2. The next win was when played in opposition to Nashville Predetors. Atlanta thrashers found this period to achieve a great height in their goal. Out of eighty two games they found success in 33, gave up 37 and they had tie in eight of the matches.
During the year 2005-2006 lots of first class players were got into the game and huge transactions were made on 23rd August 2005. Greg de Vries, Marian Hossa got in and other magnanimous players like Peter Bondra, Jaroslav Modry, Scott Mellanby and Mike Dunham were also made their entries into the team.
Ten years later to the franchisee, in 2007, the Atlanta thrashers played and got the games lost with the New York Rangers. After giving up the chief players, other players like, Jon Sim, Niko Kapanen and Steve Rucchin were pulled back into the team in order to enhance the sale of the tickets for the Atlanta thrashers. In the year 2007 the team won the first section championship during the history of franchisee. Players like, Marian Hossa, IIya Kovalchuk and Kari Lehtonen, the goaltender, formed to be the winner of the contest. Sales made in the year 2008 for Atlanta thrashers were immense and it has become hard to find tickets that people started to bid on the tickets, through online.
