A Police Gear Bag Is An Unavoidable Police Gear
The routine duty gear of policemen is itself quite substantial. Besides that they have specialized duty gear for various jobs like combing crime areas, communication, riot control, first aid etc. And they need to continuously record all the work that they do. The paraphernalia that they have to carry for all this are massive and a properly designed police gear bag is a must for them to carry much of it in an organized way.
Some models of police gear bag are called a bail out bag and the name is apt in that it bails the police out of the difficult situation of having to carry a host of things as separate packets, with some in their pockets, and others in the boot or back seat of their vehicles. Black, desert tan, and olive drab are the common colors in which a police gear bag comes, though there are other colors as well.
A police gear bag will have polyester lining to prevent scratches on electronic equipment, and will have non-corrosive zipper to avoid the possibility of corrosion in humid atmospheres. It will have a full sized, concealed pocket for holding a gun, and three or more pockets for storing gun magazines, with all these pockets having adjustable straps for closure. To make zipping and unzipping easy, some bags will have Para cord zipper pulls attached to the zipper either directly or with a ring.
Many models of police gear bag are water proof with a tarpaulin bottom. Some of the pouches meant for keeping the more valuable things will be extra water resistant and completely secure. Many bags will also have meshed pockets to keep wet things like socks or gloves, and open pockets for water bottles or flashlights or whatever the user wants to be instantly accessible. To make the best use of the various pouches and deep pockets of a police gear bag, it is best to keep the closed pouches labeled to make the retrieval of objects easy.
Some police gear bag are called mission specific in that they are designed exclusively to store gear related to a specific type of police job. For example, a police gear bag designed for house searches will have lesser pouches designed for storing gun, magazine, or knife, but more pouches for storing finger printing kit, drug kit, camera, camcorder, laptop, flashlights etc. Some types of police gear bag are multipurpose in that they can be folded in different ways to make them more suitable for holding different types of objects.
